Friday morning - Donovan night

For those of you not there, we got hit with a massive, ten-minute storm last night around 5 pm before gates open. We got some great pictures - they're all showing down at the field and i'll try to get some up here a bit later today. Good thing it wasn't Donovan's night or he would have never lived it down! The storm was fun for Gail Cameron and I... we're like little kids when it rains. I'm sure it wasn't quite as much fun for people like George Rellis, who was making sure his sound system made it through intact.

So a wet field when gates opened but a great night for all and it's looking like clear skies again today. Michelle Shocked seemed to be a love her or hate her concert... some people left not happy with her political commentary, which always surprises me. Why shouldn't a performer get to make political comments? We all make 'em ourselves, so I'm not sure why they should be held to a different standard. And it's not like there's anything WE can do about it in any case. Anyway, it was relatively few people who didn't like it, and the majority of folks left the field happy and dancing... when they finally left. Michelle signed CDs after her show and it looked like half the field stayed to take advantage of it.

Now to get ready for tonight - hopefully a much drier one!

See you at the field.
